INFORMATION
Health Precaution:
Oxygen levels are lower at higher altitudes. Inclement weather and high altitudes may induce certain illnesses that are uncommon in the plains. Common symptoms include headache, nausea, lethargy, breathlessness, general uneasiness (malaise), irritability, lightheadedness, loss of balance, disorientation, incoherence, and insomnia. These symptoms can affect individuals regardless of age, sex, or physical fitness. Gradual acclimatization is the best way to mitigate these effects. Avoid tranquilizers, sleeping pills, and strong antibiotics. Some symptoms are indicative of the body adjusting to the new environment.
Route and Climatic Conditions:
Once the journey begins, the panoramic Himalayas and Tibet surround pilgrims with their magnificence, creating an atmosphere disconnected from the conventional world. Deep silence and a sense of expansiveness prevail. A well-prepared traveler can fully enjoy the experience—planning is key. The route from Kathmandu to Tatopani/Rasuwagadi (Timure) (Nepal-China border) is narrow and challenging, but the roads are well-maintained from the border onwards. The Tibetan terrain at high altitudes is dry, cold, and windy, with night temperatures significantly colder than during the day. Torrential rains and strong icy winds are common. The average altitude exceeds 3,500 meters, and the route includes several high-altitude passes.
Risk and Liabilities:
While we strive to make your journey smooth and pleasant, the entire program in Tibet is conducted under the rules and regulations of the China Tibet Tourism Bureau (TTB). Therefore, our team and associated organizations are not responsible for changes in itineraries due to unavoidable circumstances, such as government restrictions, delays in receiving travel permits/visas, landslides, road blockages, floods, snow, political unrest, flight cancellations, vehicle shortages, or personal sickness/accidents. Any additional expenses incurred must be borne by the travelers themselves.

- A passport with a minimum of six months validity and two passport-sized photographs.
- A health certificate from a personal doctor may be required for travelers aged 50 years and above.
Fitness:
This is a tour, not a trek or expedition, so no specific level of fitness is required. Anyone who feels fit and has strong willpower can join. However, individuals with cardiac or respiratory issues should consult their doctor. Morning and evening walks, jogging, stretching, meditation, and regular exercise are recommended for a comfortable journey.
Food and Beverages:
Delicious continental and Indian food will be served. Breakfasts and dinners will be prepared at campsites by trained Nepali staff, and packed lunches will be provided during the day. Mineral water will be supplied for drinking.
Clothing and Necessities:
With temperatures varying greatly between day and night (from a maximum of 20°C to a minimum of –16°C), travelers should pack accordingly. It is recommended to travel light, carrying a maximum of 10 to 15 kg per person.
Suggested items:
- Woolen gloves, balaclava, sun hat, thermal wear, water bottle, woolen socks, towel, light jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, torch with extra batteries/bulbs, muffler, mask, raincoat, sweater, shirt/T-shirt (2 sets), and trekking shoes.
Insurance:
Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, helicopter evacuation (in emergencies), loss of personal belongings, flight delays, and trip cancellations is strongly recommended.
