Famous Places related to Badrinath Dham
Tapt Kund: On the way to Badrinath Dham, you must visit a natural hot water spring. Bathing is necessary before entering the dham. This natural hot water Kund is popular for treating many skin diseases and other disorders.
Narad Kund: Despite being surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan peaks, Narad Kund's water can rise to 55 Degrees Celsius. Devotees on their way to Badrinath Dham bathe in this Kund, considering it a religious ritual to cleanse their body and soul. Narad Kund is named after Narad Muni, who meditated near this Kund and wrote Bhakti Sutras.
Brahma Kapal: Brahma Kapal is situated around 2 km from Badrinath Hills on the banks of the Alaknanda River. It holds a significant religious value as people pay homage to their ancestors here.
Sheshnetra: A large boulder located 1.5 km away from Badrinath Dham is known as Sheshnetra. It is believed to be the eye of Shesha Naag, the vast multi-headed serpent upon which Lord Vishnu resides.
Charanpaduka : 3 km from the main temple of Badrinath lies an ancient shrine where a giant foot-shaped rock was found years ago. It is believed to be the Charanpaduka of Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. According to folklore, Lord Vishnu left his footprint here when he came to Prithvilok to find a suitable place to rest and meditate.
Mata Murti Temple: Located at the banks of the Alaknanda River, Mata Murti temple is a sacred shrine dedicated to the beloved Mother of Lord Badrinarayan.
Mana Village: The last village located at the Indo-Tibetan border, this village is blessed with greener lands, cleaner water, and a fresh cold breeze. The mesmerizing Saraswati river flows here, making it more beautiful with natural scenes that can captivate your heart and soul.
An Indo-Mongolian tribe known as the Bhotia community considers this village its home.
Vasundhara:Approximately 9 km from Badrinath Dham, a natural giant awe-inspiring waterfall welcomes you with all cool breezes and scenic views.
Bhim Pul: On another side of Mana village lies a huge rock resembling a pul (bridge). Under it, the Saraswati River flows loudly and thunderously. This rock is believed to have been placed by one of Pandavas Bheem while crossing the river in their quest to heaven.
Vyas Gufa (cave): Near Mana Village, there is an ancient cave believed to be where the great sage Ved Vyas composed the Mahabharata with the assistance of Lord Ganesha.
01 DAY: HARIDWAR – BADRINATH (215 km/9 hr)
On day 01, our team representative will meet you at Haridwar, from where we will drive to Badrinath via Joshimath. On reaching Badrinath, you can check into your hotel and rest for a while. By the evening, we will lead you towards Badrinath Dham for the Aarti, after which you can return to your hotel for a delicious, healthy dinner and an overnight stay.
02 DAY: BADRINATH – JOSHIMATH – SRINAGAR (160 km/6-7 hr)
On day 02 morning, visit the Badrinath temple after a holy dip in Tapt Kund. As you walk through the colourful entrance of the temple and have the darshan of Badrivishal along with lord Ganesh, Kubera, Garuda, Narada, Udhhav, Nar & Narayan.
You can also see other small temples inside the compound, such as Laxmi Mata, Nar-Narayana, Hanuman, Ghantakarna, and Kamdhenu. Inside the temple compound, you can also get ‘Charnamrit’ (abhishekam jal).
Near the Badrinath temple, there is Brahma Kapal, a significant place for pind daan & shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus); one can perform rites here. Later, a visit to Mana Village (India’s last village towards the Indo-Tibetan border) includes historical Vyas Gufa, Bhim Pul, Saraswati River, etc.
By the evening, we will leave for Srinagar for an overnight stay.
Joshimath is situated above the confluence of Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. It is among the four 'Maths' established by Adi Guru Shankaracharya. Among many ancient sacred temples and shrines near the Badrinath temple, Narsingh Narayan Temple is the most significant, denoting the effect of time on Badrinath through the left arm of the deity, which is eroding with time. It is believed that when this hand of lord Narsingh Narayan deity erodes, the Gods residing in Badrinath will ultimately shift to Bhavishya Badrinath in Niti Valley.
03 DAY: SRINAGAR – HARIDWAR / DEHRADUN (210 km/5-6 hr)
While on our way to Haridwar, we will visit Devprayag, the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi. From here onwards, the downstream river is called the Ganges. On reaching Haridwar, you can take a holy dip in the river Ganges, attend the enchanting evening aarti at Har-ki-Pauri, and visit Brahma Kund, where the heavenly nectar (Amrit) spilt out of the pitcher. From here, we will drop you off at Haridwar railway station or Dehradun Airport.
